Health & Hip Guarantee

The dog's general health is guaranteed for 10 days after the date of shipping. There are no other implied guarantees past the 10 day period, other than those mentioned below. The dog will have a thorough examination by our veterinarian before being shipped. It will also come with a state of Idaho Health Certificate signed by our veterinarian.

Dogs sold by von der Accani Kennels carry a hip and eye guarantee. This covers any genetic problems which would prevent said animal from being certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, (OFA) or the Canine Eye Registration Foundation Inc. (CERF)

It is impossible to state that any given dog will be completely free of genetic imperfections. At von der Accani kennels, we only sell animals that have proven negative for the severe crippling disease of hip dysplasia and negative for any eye problems. We try very hard to research the background of the sire and dam, and any litters that may have been produced. Only then, when we are satisfied that these animals are sound, do we breed them. We feel that by adhering to these strict standards we are cutting down the odds of selling a defective dog. Therefore, we offer this guarantee, provided that the purchaser complies with this agreement.

OFA will only certify dogs who have reached 24 months of age. For this guarantee to be honored, the dog must be x-rayed and certified within 6 months of the dogs second birthday.

CERF will certify puppies as young as 6 weeks of age. When possible, we try to have the dog's eyes examined before they are shipped from our kennels. Scheduling the eye CERF test is limited to the Veterinarian's schedule, as the only veterinarian that is Board Certified to do CERF exams comes from Denver every 3 months. If it is impossible for us to have this done, then the dogs eyes must be certified within 30 days of purchase.

If a problem should arise before the dog reaches the required age or time limit stated herein, then the purchaser must have OFA evaluate the x-rays or a CERF evaluation from a Certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist and send a copy of their findings to von der Accani Kennels.

When the following criteria are met, this guarantee will be in effect and honored:

1. The dog has been given 500mg of Ester-C daily.

2. A copy of the OFA or CERF finding sent to us for our records.

3. THE DOG MUST NOT HAVE BEEN BRED.

4. A letter from your veterinarian stating the animal has been spayed or neutered, along with copies of the dogs complete health records from the time of purchase

5. The affected dog was returned to our kennel. (Transportation cost to and from von der Accani Kennel is the responsibility of the purchaser.)

At that point, when we are satisfied that a problem does exist, the said animal has not been bred, has been spayed / neutered, and has been returned to our kennel, von der Accani kennels will give the purchaser another dog of like or similar quality and level of training. The cost of transportation for the replacement dog will be assumed by the buyer.
